# Platform Sovereignty

Bratton's name for sovereignty that is "not just made about infrastructural lines; it is made by infrastructural lines." Where Schmitt's sovereign decides the exception (suspends law, names the enemy), platform sovereignty automates that decision into the partitions and interfaces of planetary computation: the same wall is enclave for one User and camp for another, and the flip is programmed rather than declared. It is "still immature," a mix of legally articulated subjectivity and infrastructurally produced access, indifferent to whether the platform is public or private; its key contested site is exit/entrance. The book's glossary stresses it may coincide with, transgress, or run wholly outside formal law.
