Metabolic Alignment

Likavčan's name for what a long L indexes: a sophont species has matched "the internal organizational patterns of its collective inhabitation of the planet (mediated via technical scaffolds)" to the pace and scale of biospheric processes — scaling some activities up (carbon drawdown), others down (deforestation). It is the bridge between intraspecies history and interspecies evolution: a species leveling up "its historical game to the evolutionary scale." In §7 it is radicalised into the technosphere becoming metabolically isomorphic with the biosphere, which is why mature civilisations produce no distinguishable technosignatures. Close kin to Bratton's "viable planetarity."
