# Three-Mirrors Model

Ionescu, Leung and Siglidis's stack for relating society to LLM internals: **sociality** (culture in Sinha's sense — normative patterns of meaning realized in semiotic systems) is the highest-order domain; **language** is its "diffractive lens" (Duranti's indexicality, Eckert's indexical field); **token space** is "a second-order embedding of sociality" projected through that lens. The mirror is *bidirectional*: *embedded* sociality flows society → language → tokens, while *emergent* sociality flows back out as LLM outputs and agent-to-agent talk enter human discourse and get appropriated (Giddens's double hermeneutics, Clark's cognitive niche construction). The unresolved ambiguity is whether the mirror preserves (so simulations are evidence about humans) or distorts (so what emerges is new) — the paper needs both.
