Psychozoic Era

Joseph LeConte's late-19th-century name (alongside Dana's "Era of Mind" and Stoppani's "Anthropozoic") for the geological age in which living matter's flows are dictated by mental forces — the direct ancestor of "noosphere" and Bratton's "Noocene." Rooted in Dana's "cephalisation" (evolution moves "headward"), it was announced triumphally, with Europeans as its pinnacle and Mars/Venus read as later/earlier stages of one planetary script. Kardashev later scaled it to cosmic "psychozoicization." Moynihan reclaims the word for an epoch we might still earn after the necessary episodes of planetary stupidity.
